A young man named Padma Das (35) has had his penis cut off by a friend named Bhola of the third sex (Hijra) in Palashbari Upazila of Gaibandha.
Seriously injured Padma Das was admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital on Monday (February 14) morning. Earlier on Sunday (February 13), the incident took place in Chhota Shimultala village of the upazila. Son of Ananta Das of Amlagachhi Hat area of Padma Das upazila.
According to locals, Bholar of the third sex had a long friendship with Padma. A few days ago, Padma got married without informing her friend Bhola. Bhola got angry in his mind. On Sunday night, Padma was invited to the small Shimultala village of Bhola’s grandfather’s house. He entertained her by mixing sleeping pills with planned food.
After a while, when Padma became unconscious, Bhola cut off his penis with a blade. When Padma started screaming, the locals rescued her and admitted her to Palashbari Upazila Health Complex. When his condition deteriorated there, doctors referred him to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for better treatment this morning.
Palashbari police sub-inspector (SI) Shahidul Islam said Bhola fled the house shortly after the incident. Injured Padma Das has been sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. However, no one has yet lodged a complaint with the police on behalf of the victim’s family, he said.
