Election Commission Additional Secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath said that the decision to transfer all Upazila Nirbahi Officers and Police Station Officers (OC) of the country has been made based on field level information.
He said this in response to a question of journalists at the Agargaon election building on Saturday afternoon. He also said that the election commissioners have visited various districts and regions of the country in the last one week. They had different types of information.
Based on those findings, they took this decision on the 30th. He also said that there will not be any kind of chaos due to this transfer.
EC Additional Secretary said that the Election Commission is taking measures for the security of all the candidates including independent candidates nominated in the election. He said, 2 thousand 713 nomination papers have been submitted. Among them 747 independent candidates. On the other hand, 29 registered political parties participated in the elections.
