Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the World Cup is happening, we don’t have a team, it really hurts. I watch the game every day and think about it. He said, our boys and girls are very talented and talented. They can do the impossible given a chance.

He said this at the closing and medal distribution ceremony of the third edition of the ‘Bangabandhu Inter-University Sports Championship’ at the Army Stadium in the capital on Wednesday (November 23).

Highlighting various initiatives of the government regarding sports, the Prime Minister said, our players are developing through this competition. As it continues, it will continue to evolve. I was once a refugee. Then we have been giving priority to this sport since coming to Bangladesh. We belong to the sporting family.

He said that sports and competition guide the youth. The more you do sports, the better your mind and body will be. Competition in sports will inspire patriotism. We do not believe in drugs and militancy. That’s why I have made a beautiful environment for the game. I know it requires government sponsorship. I am going to do that.

State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel, Secretary Mejbah Uddin, BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon and BAFF President Kazi Salauddin along with vice chancellors of various universities and players and organizers were present in the event.
