Natore Zilla Parishad Election No. 1 Ward Singra Upazila Member. Sarfaraz Newaz Babu was elected privately by getting 100 votes on the elephant symbol. His nearest rival candidate MM Abul Kalam got 68 votes in ostrich symbol. Babu Upazila A’League relief and social welfare affairs secretary. He is the son of late Shahjahan Ali, former president of Upazila A-League.
In Natore Zilla Parishad elections, this election was held by giving direct votes to elected representatives of 12 unions and 1 municipality of Singra Upazila. Like the rest of the country, the polling was held on Monday (October 17) from 9 am to 2 pm uninterruptedly at Singra Gol-e Afroz Government College Centre.
According to upazila election office sources, the total number of voters in Singra upazila in Zilla Parishad election is 176 people. 174 voters exercised their franchise. 2 people were absent. Presiding officer Khandaker Farid announced the results after the election.
