The students boycotted the classes demanding the vacation of the hostel of Sarankhola Government College in Bagerhat. They started this class boycott program by marching and gathering in the college campus on Saturday morning. They announced to continue the class boycott program until the hostel is freed from encroachment.

According to the students, Sabbir Ahmed Mukta, Assistant Professor of History Department, is occupying a house in the student dormitory of Sharankhola Government College. Because of this the female students are embarrassed and suffer from insecurity. The influential teacher is not paying attention to the college authorities, who have given several notices to vacate the dormitory. Because of this they have started class boycott program.

HSC first year students Nazmun Nahar Shanta, Sonia Akhter, Deepa Rani, Akramul Hossain Jasim said, “We don’t understand how a teacher lives in a dormitory. Even after saying this, since he is not leaving the house, we are forced to skip classes for an indefinite period.

In this regard, the principal of the college said. Nurul Amin Fakir said, the matter is very sad. He is living in the dormitory even after giving several notices and verbally to the said teacher. It is disrespectful to teachers. He should leave home soon.

When asked, the accused teacher Sabbir Ahmed Mukta said, “There is a conspiracy against me out of revenge.” I will leave the house as soon as the construction work of my house is completed.
