A young man named Faruq 42 was hacked and seriously injured by miscreants in Gurdaspur’s Patpara market due to past enmity. Today, August 10, Wednesday, around 7:30 in the evening, the incident took place in Patpara market. The injured youth is said to be the son of deceased Parash Ullah of Dakshin Nari Bari village.
According to local sources, at one stage of the dispute over the money due, the young man named Dipu (20), son of Shakhawat Molla of Poyal Shura Patpara village, threatened to go to Farooq’s nephew and visit his house on Wednesday afternoon.
After evening when Farak went to Patpara market, before he knew anything, the Chinese came with an ax and cut the stone and Dwipu ran away. Farooq was fatally injured by cutting his wrists and two legs. Later the locals found him and admitted him to Gurdaspur Health Complex. When his condition worsened, he was transferred to Rajshahi Medical College.
Doctor Md Oxin working in the emergency department of Gurdaspur Health Complex said that the condition of his right hand is very bad and the main vein has been cut. Besides, there are marks of sharp weapons all over the body. As the condition of the injured person’s body is critical, he has been sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
It was not possible to take his statement as Dipu’s mobile phone was switched off.
Gurdaspur police station OC Md. Abdul Motin said police have been deployed at the scene. I have not received the complaint yet, legal action will be taken if received.
