A 28-year-old housewife has been raped in front of her three-year-old child in Madhupur Gudam Para area of Ruhia Union in Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila. The incident took place in the Mission Railgate quarter of the union late last Friday night.
According to local sources, Panjika Sadhak and Tantric Prakash (Jhol) of Madhupur village in Ward 7 of the union called the woman from her house and took her to a temple. From there, the woman was strategically brought to the Mission Railgate quarters. The child then left the housewife’s child beside her and raped her with Tantric soup. Later, his friends called Ruhia Mission Rail Getman Samim (30), Enamul Haque (36), Major (28) and Ujjal Das (35) and they too raped the housewife and fled.
In this incident the housewife fell ill. After informing his relatives about the incident, local UP member Yusuf Ali and some influential people threatened to file a case at Ruhia police station on Saturday morning and sent him home.
The UP member (former) of the reserved seat, Bina Rani, said the housewife was very poor. Sadhak Jhol of the same area took him to the mission rail gate showing various greeds. Later, four youths, including Getman, raped her and fled. Incumbent UP member Yusuf Ali stopped us from filing a case against the accused. And took two days to resolve. Today is Sunday evening. On the other hand, UP member Yusuf Ali was contacted more than once but could not be reached. He also turned off his mobile phone.
Ruhiya Ghanibishnupur Awami League general secretary Taslim Uddin said the Yusuf member forbade the woman to file a case. At the same time he offered some money to keep his mouth shut and pressured him to stay in his brother’s house for a few days. Local UP chairman Monirul Haque Babu said a woman went missing at night. I heard about the discovery again the next morning. But I don’t know about rape.
However, Thakurgaon Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) deleted. Sultana Razia said that the incident of rape of a housewife in front of a child is very sad. I am sending police to search. Asked if the housewife’s family was being pressured to resolve the issue locally, she said there was no solution to the rape case. Legal action will be taken against those who have committed this heinous act or who are pushing for a solution.
