A housewife has died after falling from the roof of a two-storey building at Kadalpur in Raozan. Her name is Rasheda Akhter (40). He is Haji Shair Fakir Shah (R.) of Kadalpur UP’s 8th ward, Haji Md. Shahajan’s wife. Jahanara Begum, mother-in-law of the deceased, said that around 10 am, four members of the family, including me, sat together and had tea and breakfast.
Rasheda then sent the boy to school and left the motor to fetch water from the tank. At one point he climbed to the roof to see if the water was rising. I was in the back room then. Suddenly I heard a loud noise and I ran to the front of the house and saw Rashedar’s body lying in front of the balcony.
He further said that he was immediately rescued and first taken to Pioneer Hospital in Noapara Patherhat and later to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead at around 11:30 pm.
UP member Sahabu Chowdhury and locals said there was no railing where the water tank was. Maybe he fell while calling someone or looking down. Police have visited the spot. The deceased has 1 son and 2 daughters at present. His eldest son drowned seven years ago.
