The people of Natore want Abdul Quddus, the political pioneer of North Bengal, to be the president

The people of Natore want to re-elect Chalanbil, the political leader of North Bengal, a close associate of Bangabandhu and a veteran political figure, the heroic freedom fighter Professor Abdul Quddus MP, as the president of the district Awami League. According to the investigation, the heroic freedom fighter Professor Md. Abdul Quddus MP was born on October 31, 1948 in Bilsa village of Khubjipur union of Gurudaspur upazila of Natore inhabited by Chalanbil. Father Md. Hayatullah Sardar was a farmer by profession and his mother died. Gulenur Begum was a housewife. His father died when he was 6-7 years old. Md. From a middle class family in Ajparagaon. Abdul Quddus passed MA in Philosophy and English from Rajshahi College and Rajshahi University. Veteran and veteran politicians are involved in politics through student league politics. He was the convener of the Student Struggle Committee for Independence in the greater Rajshahi region. He was the president of Greater Rajshahi District Chhatra League from 1986-82. He was the president of Chhatra Sangram Parishad during the mass uprising of 1969. Responding to his call, the students of Rajshahi at that time kept the highway vibrating. In the face of that mass uprising, the then ruling clique was forced to withdraw the Agartala case and release Sheikh Mujib. Professor Abdul Quddus was one of the organizers of the war of liberation in the greater Rajshahi region. Responding to Bangabandhu’s call on March 7, 1971, he jumped into the war of liberation. As commander, he fought against Pak hyenas at the risk of his life. In the battle, his eldest son Shahid Kallol was brutally killed by the Pakistani invaders. After the independence of the country, he (1972-84) was elected VP of Rajshahi College Student Parliament. He was the acting general secretary of Rajshahi district Awami League till 1982-8. When Rajshahi Mahanagar was formed, he was the general secretary of Rajshahi Mahanagar Awami League from 1981 to 1990. He was elected a Member of Parliament for the first time in the 1991 national elections after the end of military rule. He was the Minister of State in the Ministry of Fisheries and Animal Resources. In his constituency 71, Natore-4 (Gurudaspur-Baraigram) constituency, Awami League candidate who has been nominated by the party a total of 6 times, one of the beloved comrades of Bangabandhu, one of the organizers of the war of liberation, has won the Jatiya Sangsad elections five times in 1991, 1996, 2008, 2013 and 2016. He is currently the Member of Parliament for Natore-4 constituency and is serving as the elected President of Natore District Awami League.

Baraigram Upazila Awami League President Abdul Quddus Miyaji said, the first elected Awami League president of Natore district after the country’s independence, the heroic freedom fighter Alhaj Professor. Gurudaspur Upazila Awami League vice-president Rajkumar Kashi and municipal Awami League general secretary Ariful Islam Biplob said the first person arrested by the then ruling party in Rajshahi district after the assassination of Bangabandhu on August 15, 1975 was Abdul Quddus (August 16/17, 1975). The murderers put him in prison. He has been imprisoned for 5 long years but he has not bowed down to the killers. While in jail, he was elected the organizing secretary of Rajshahi district Awami League.
Haji Ramzan Ali, chairman of Natore Sadar Upazila and joint general secretary of district Awami League, said in his colorful political life he has held various important posts including president of Rajshahi University, Rajshahi district, metropolitan and divisional Chhatra League, Juba League and Awami League.
