Deputy Commissioner Shariful Islam handed over bicycles as gifts to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to five students belonging to a small ethnic group in Khetlal upazila of Joypurhat.
On Tuesday (February 15) at 3 pm in the Khetlal Upazila Parishad premises from the Prime Minister’s Office to implement the “Development Assistance for Special Areas” program in the second installment of the 2021-22 Fiscal Year to improve the living standards of the small ethnic group. Bicycles were distributed among 5 school children of the group.
Upazila Nibarhi Officer Ishtiaq Ahmed presided over the function and Deputy Commissioner Shariful Islam was present as the chief guest. Upazila Chairman Mostakim Mandal was present as the special guest.
Also present were Acting President of Upazila Awami League Abdul Majid Mollah, Municipal Mayor Sirajul Islam, Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nirendra Nath Mandal, Women Vice Chairman of Upazila Parishad Nurunnahar Gunna, Vice Chairman Shahrul Islam Babu, Bir Muktijoddha Mofazzal Hossain, Azahar Hossain and others.
After distributing the bicycles, Deputy Commissioner Shariful Islam held an exchange meeting with all the officials and people’s representatives of the upazila.
