The district Awami League conference in Natore has been scheduled for Sunday, February 20. Besides, the party has also finalized the dates of several upazila and municipality conferences. On this occasion, an exchange meeting was held at the auditorium of Gurudaspur Bilchalan Shaheed Samsuzzoha Government College.

Natore district Awami League president Prof Md Abdul Quddus, who was the chief guest at the event, said, “Preparations have been made for the conference in the expired branches of the committee to organize the grassroots under the direction of Awami League president Sheikh Hasina.” As part of this, today’s exchange meeting is to make the Natore District Conference on the 20th a success.

At the meeting, Natore district members and Gurudaspur Upazila Awami League leaders promised to hold a joint conference.
The meeting was presided over by Awami League leader and former chairman of Dharabarisha Union Abdul Majid. Gurudaspur Upazila Chhatra League President Md. Atiyar Rahman Bandhan, General Secretary Shubhashis Kabir, Upazila Vice Chairman and Youth League President Md. Alal Sheikh, Youth League Leader Zaman Sarkar, Upazila Awami League Joint Secretary A. Mannan Khalifa, Mashinda Union Awami League spoke at the meeting. Organizing Secretary Shamim Ahmed. Abdur Razzak, General Secretary of Nazipur Union A-League, Md. Abdur Rahim Mollah, Member of Natore District Awami League, Md. Rabiul Fakir and former and current chairmen of 6 unions. Besides, more than 500 leaders and activists of Awami League and its affiliated organizations were present.

In the exchange of views, the speakers emphasized on the importance of sacrificing the party and evaluating the old leaders and workers. At the same time, the most senior leader of North Bengal demanded that Professor Abdul Quddus, the only elected president of Natore district and five-time elected MP of Natore, be re-elected as the president of Natore district Awami League.
