Five people, including a forest officer, were injured in a fox bite at Hatibandha in Lalmonirhat. The incident took place in Naodabas Shalban area of the upazila. There is panic in the area for fear of fox attack.
The injured have been identified as Khairul Islam, 45, Abdul Majid, 65, Ramicha Begum, 55, Binod Chandra Barman, 55, and Jahanara Begum, 50.
According to locals, a fox entered the locality from inside the forest and bit some people. Later, the fox entered the forest department office and bit the forest officer Khairul Islam. At that time the locals rescued them and took them to the Upazila Health Complex.
Doctors of the emergency department of Hatibandha Upazila Health Complex sent the injured to Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital in the evening with first aid.
Khairul Islam, Naodabas Forest Officer of Hatibandha Upazila, said that before realizing anything, a fox entered the room and bit its hands and feet. There was panic among the people in Shalban area.
