Masks and winter clothes have been distributed among more than 100 heroic freedom fighters and their families in Matikata Union of Godagari Upazila of Rajshahi as greetings.
These were distributed by the chief guest at the Union Freedom Fighters Command Office at Kadam Hajir Mor area of the upazila on Friday (February 4) at noon – Ayesha Akhtar Dalia, wife of eminent social worker, founder of People’s Rokeya Foundation and Arshad Ali Memorial College, wife of State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam. The gift was organized by the People’s Rokeya Foundation.
Ayesha Akhtar Dalia inaugurated the board with the names of 71 heroic freedom fighters of Matikata Union, development activities of the government, speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on March 7 and pictures of the March 25 assassination of Pak army. 6th Matikata Union Freedom Fighter Commander. It may be mentioned that prominent vegetable worker Ayesha Akhtar Dalia is the daughter of late Professor Arshad Ali of Ghanshempur village in Bashudevpur union of Godagari upazila. Dalia is working to promote women’s education in the area through the People’s Rokeya Foundation. Many girls are being educated for free through this foundation. He has set up a hospital in Godagari where free medical care is provided. Besides, he has set up a college called Arshad Ali Memorial College where the destitute boys and girls will get the opportunity to study for free.
