Roumari police have recovered two cannabis plants with 9-foot-high stalks from one corner of a house chip in a raid on a tip-off in Roumari, Kurigram.
The cannabis plant was recovered from the house of Iqbal Haque, son of late Mahar Ali Sheikh of Faluarchar village in Bandaber union of the upazila on Tuesday night. The people of the house fled after realizing the position of the police. In this regard, a case has been filed against them as fugitive accused, said Officer Incharge.
Roumari Police Station Officer-in-Charge Montasser Billah said that on the basis of secret information, under the leadership of Sub-Inspector Enamul Haque, two cannabis trees were cut down from the house of Iqbal Hossain, son of late Mahar Ali of Fluwarchar village.
However, a case has been filed against the fugitives under the Narcotics Act.
