A man named Akbar Ali has been accused of cutting the soil of the government canal in Gurudaspur of Natore and raising his personal land. The incident took place at Tengsagari canal in Shikarpara area of Mashinda mouza of Mashinda union of the upazila.

On Monday afternoon, local MP Alhaj Prof Md Abdul Quddus inaugurated the excavation work of Tengsagari canal again in March 2021, thinking of the farmers in the area. Panasi Irrigation Development Project, BADC Pabna implemented that work. After a long period of work, when the canal renovation work was completed, the common people of the area were relieved. But in order to destroy the canal again, Md. Akbar Ali (56) of the area is raising his own land by cutting the soil of the canal bank. He is continuing his work without listening to anyone even after being persuaded by the locals in different ways.

A number of youths, including Hridoy, Milon, protested on behalf of the local conscious community, saying that despite their repeated bans, he was continuing to raise his own land by cutting the soil along the government canal for his own benefit. The old canal was renovated a long time later. Now if the soil of the bank is cut in this way then this canal will be closed again in a short time. So the locals immediately sought the intervention of the administration.

Accused Akbar Ali said he did not think of the official canal. Thinking of his own place, he is cutting the soil of the bank with his labor and taking it to his own land.
Gurudaspur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Tamal Hossain said that necessary steps will be taken on the spot.
