Police have arrested a drug dealer named Alep Sardar (32) and a fugitive accused Biplob Hossain (34) with heroin and yaba in a raid in Naogaon. The two arrested on Wednesday afternoon have been sent to court.
The arrested drug dealer is the son of late Hasmat Sardar of Bhabanipur village in Alep upazila and the convicted accused is Biplob son of Mozaffar Mandal of Jalalabad village.
Raninagar Police Station OC Shahin Akand said police raided Bhabanipur area of the upazila on Tuesday evening on the basis of secret information. At that time the drug dealer arrested Alep. During the arrest, 15 grams of heroin and 11 pieces of yaba tablets worth Tk 1.5 lakh were recovered from him. A drug case has been filed against him.
According to the OC, the wise court sentenced Biplob to two years in CR 790/18 case. He had been on the run since the sentencing. Police raided the place and arrested Biplob from Mithapur Bazar area of the upazila on Tuesday night. The two arrested have been sent to court on Wednesday afternoon.
