1 killed in BSF firing at Sapahar border

Indians at Sapahar border in Naogaon Maqbool Hossain alias Sanaullah, 30, a cattle trader, was shot dead by Border Security Force (BSF).

The incident took place near 1S (Main Pillar) of Pillar No. 238 at Hampania border of the upazila on Saturday morning. He is the son of Alauddin of Krishnasada Purbapara village in Goala union of the upazila.

According to the locals, some cattle traders including Maqbool Hossain went to India through Krishnasada area of ​​Hampania border on Friday night to collect cattle. They tried to enter Bangladesh on Saturday morning with cows. At that moment, Joanna, a patrol member of the Pannapur 69 BSF in India, noticed and fired at them. Others managed to escape, but were shot 200 yards inside India and died on the spot. The body was found lying on Indian barbed wire fence in Indian territory of No-Man’s Land.

Abdul Aziz, commander of the 17th BGB Hampania Camp, said a message had been sent to a flag meeting at the Pannapur camp in India.
