RAB has found Tk 5 crore in the account of a drug addict in Shibganj of Chapainawabganj. According to RAB, the father is a former director of the Faculty of Physical Education at Rajshahi University. They have three huge houses in Rajshahi.

But due to reckless living and involvement in drugs, the education ended in the third year of honors. At present, Azahar Ali Apel, son of the late Abed Ali, former director of the Faculty of Physical Education at Rajshahi University, spends lakhs of rupees a month on drugs. RAB has arrested Apple from Shibganj in multiple cases of drug, murder and torture of women 12 years ago.
This information was given by RAB at a press conference held at RAB-5 Chapainawabganj camp on Friday afternoon. Earlier, he was arrested from his house in Jalmachamari mahalla of Shibganj municipal area. At that time, RAB arrested Asif Ali Nishan, a drug supplier with Apple and Sadman Shakib Ali, the son of Apple’s American expatriate brother. According to the information given by them, four more drug dealers were arrested from different areas of Shibganj upazila on Friday morning. Huge amount of yaba and counterfeit money was seized from them. Azhar Ali Apel, son of late Abed Ali of Jalmachamari mahalla of Shibganj municipal area, Sadman Shakib Ali, son of Atahar Ali and nephew of Apel, Asif Ali Nishan, son of late Abu Bakkar Siddique of Daulatpur Upper Tola mahalla Ranaul Haque, son of Dhana Momin, Masud Rana Yasin, son of late Sirajul Islam of Daulatpur Mahajanpara Mahalla and his son Shahriar Nazim Joy.
According to RAB, ATM cards of four banks have been seized from Apple, the son of a former teacher. Apple has told RAB that there is an estimated Rs 5 crore in these four cards. Apple married Afsana Yasmin in 2000 after passing HSC. Divorce occurs due to drug addiction. Apple fled abroad to escape the drug case. After returning to the country in 2015, he married Afroza Khatun and separated within 6 months. Shibganj Police Station OC Farid Hossain said a case has been filed with Shibganj Police Station over the incident. The detainees have been sent to jail through the court.
