Roumari (Kurigram) Representative
An influential quarter had occupied 4 acres and 6 hundred acres of cultivated khas land worth around Tk 5 crore in Ijlamari village area of Sadar union of Roumari upazila of Kurigram. On Tuesday, at the direction of the Upazila administration, the land was recovered from the occupants under the leadership of Upazila Land Surveyor Abdul Awal. Later a red flake was hung on the land by the administration.
It is learned that 4 acre 6 percent land of 1 RS 1 SA 522 Dag of Kalabari mouza is presently worth about 5 crore khas land. , Jamal Mandal’s son Fulmiya of Saidabad village and some others are cultivating by force. At various times, the people of the revenue department of the government provided tactical obstacles when trying to recover the land. It has not been possible to rescue in the last few years due to obstruction in the rescue operation. Later on Tuesday, he recovered the land on the instructions of Upazila Land and Upazila Administration. Upazila Land Surveyor Abdul Awal, Roumari Sadar Union Land Assistant Officer Shahadat Hossain, Union Land Assistant Ruhullah Shaulmari, Upazila Land Office Processor Surveyor Abu Saeed and other dignitaries of the area were present on behalf of the Upazila administration.
Many locals including Ayub Ali, Nur Kalam, Abu Saeed and Hasan Ali from Ijlamari village said that the land grabbers have been occupying this influential land for a long time and have sold it elsewhere for around Tk 6 lakh. How can you sell government land illegally? Upazila administration authorities have recovered the land of Kalabari Mouza’s long-standing 01 Khas Khatian. As a result, the government will get a lot of revenue every year by cultivating khas land.
It was not possible for Abul Hashem, the accused land grabber, to try to communicate through mobile phone about the sale of government khas khatiani land to others.
Upazila land surveyor Abdul Awal said some influential quarters had taken possession of the land and sold it elsewhere. Going to rescue this land, I repeatedly stopped in the middle. There was no lack of sincerity in rescuing the land. Under the direction of the administration, 4 acres of land was recovered and bounded with red ribbon.
