Supporters of a UP member have been accused of stealing khasi from a farmer’s house in Gurudaspur, Natore, late at night and organizing an election khichuri banquet. The incident took place at around 12:30 pm on Friday (December 16) in Paik Para village of Maharajpur in Chapila union of the upazila. Resident farmer Mithun Pahan has lodged a written complaint against Shahin Ali, son of Ayub Ali, Hasibul Islam, son of Shahidul Islam and Badal Ali, son of Chattar at Gurudaspur police station on Saturday afternoon.
According to local sources, the accused are supporters of Md. Abdul Hannan, a current UP member from Chapila Maharajpur area and a candidate in the upcoming UP elections.
Resident farmer Shri Mithun Pahan said that on Friday night, he took his three goats to his house and they fell asleep. At around 12:30 pm, they took a pregnant goat and slaughtered it by the pond. Later, when the slaughtered goat had a baby in its belly, they came back to his house and tried to take another Khasi, but when the goat called out, they ran out of the house and chased them away.
It was not possible to contact the accused. In this regard, UP member Abdul Hannan said that the accused persons were not his supporters. He demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
Gurudaspur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Abdul Matin said a case has been registered in this regard. Attempts are being made to arrest the accused. # Md. Majem Ali Malin
