The great Victory Day and the golden jubilee of victory have been celebrated with due dignity and solemnity at Gurudaspar in Natore. The day’s activities begin with 50 rounds of artillery fire at sunrise on Thursday.
Afterwards, at 8 o’clock in the morning, wreaths were laid at the central Shaheed Minar of the Upazila. The national flag was hoisted at various government and non-government institutions, shops and educational institutions.
Meanwhile, after hoisting the national flag in the morning at Gurudaspur Government Pilot Model High School ground, the chief guest of the function was local MP Natore District Awami League President Prof Md Abdul Quddus. Gurudaspur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Tamal Hossain presided over the function. Chairman of Upazila Parishad Md. Anwar Hossain, Municipal Mayor Md. Shahnewaz Ali, Vice Chairman Md. Alal Sheikh, Women Vice Chairman Roxana Akhter Lipi, Assistant Commissioner (VM) Md. Abu Russell and Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gurudaspur Police Station Md. Abdul Matin were present. , Freedom fighters, journalists, teachers and people of various professions.
After the display, a reception was given to the heroic freedom fighters and members of the families of the martyrs and a discussion meeting was held. Apart from Zohar, the day is celebrated with prayers and supplications at various Upasanas for the peace of the nation, distribution of quality food among the hospitals and orphans, various sports and cultural programs. The day is also observed in various educational institutions.
