The victim has lodged a general diary (GD) No. 575 with Gurudaspur Police Station in the name of Daily Ittefaq’s Gurudaspur Upazila Correspondent Md. Rashidul Islam for harassing a college student at Gurudaspur in Natore. The victim lodged the complaint at around 4 pm on Sunday.
According to the complaint, Rashidul Islam has been providing phone calls and messages from the personal mobile number of a class XI student of Rosy Mozammel Women’s College for the last two months. Despite being banned more than once, he is being harassed through phone calls and text messages. Due to this, his studies are being disrupted and he is under social and family stress. Despite repeated bans, he is still behaving badly. For this reason, he has taken refuge in the law.
The victim said her home was a few kilometers away from the college. For this reason he has to come to the college with the help of vehicles. Private tutoring is also available from local teachers. He is being mistreated when he protests against being harassed by phone calls and text messages. Due to which he is not able to go to college and private study. The student wants a quick remedy.
Accused Rashidul Islam said in this regard, the police had banned a GD in my name earlier due to which I did not contact him anymore. What is there in it? If there is news in my name in this regard, I will also take action.
Gurudaspur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Abdul Matin said the student had already filed two GDs in the name of Rashidul Islam. The wise court has given one to the police station for investigation. The other is in process. Necessary steps will be taken in a very short time subject to investigation report.
