Dead in Boalidaha village of Sadullapur upazila of Gaibandha. Tashir Uddin’s daughter Taslima Begum (22). Alim Uddin, a 10-year-old convict in her husband’s drug case, was abducted five years ago and her entire family is now suffering from extreme insecurity.
Taslima Begum made the allegation at a press conference held at Sadullapur Press Club Milanayatan on Tuesday.
He said in a written statement that Taslima was married in 2010 to Alim Uddin, son of Nazlar Rahman of Satarpara in Palashbari upazila. But Alim Uddin’s main occupation is drug business and he is accused in multiple drug, women abuse and murder cases. He then pressured Alim Uddin to quit the drug business. Alim Uddin started torturing him mentally and physically. At one stage, on April 10, 2016, Alim Uddin and 3 of his associates were arrested by the police along with 26,000 Yaba tablets. Taslima dervishes Alim Uddin on 19 November of the same year.
He further said that Alim Uddin and his 3 accomplices were sentenced to 10 years in the drug case.
He alleged that Alim Uddin was sentenced to about five years in the case and was released on bail on November 24 after appealing to the high court. Since then, various relatives, including his 4 sisters and mother, have been threatening to kill him and his relatives on their mobile phones. A general diary has been kept at Sadullapur police station.
Alim Uddin denied all the allegations and said he had never threatened them.
