Baba Sultan Shah has handed over his own daughter to the police for being involved in anti-social activities in Khetlal of Joypurhat. His son Toraf Uddin Mandal (35) was also handed over to the police as he was involved in anti-social activities. The incident took place at Belta Bandighi village in Dakshin Tausara of the upazila.
It is learned that after receiving a tip-off at 11 pm on Friday, police conducted a raid in Tausara village of Mamudpur union of the upazila and arrested two persons, including son Toraf Uddin Mandal and daughter, from the bedroom of their daughter Mousumita (pseudonym) (24).
The two arrested are Toraf Uddin Mandal, 35, son of late Meher Ali Mandal and Mausumita, 24, daughter of Tausara village of Mamudpur Union. Khetlal police confirmed the information.
According to the girl’s father and police sources, Mausumi Sultana had been in Malaysia for a long time. He returned to the country last November. After returning home, he started behaving in a foreign style and recklessly and got involved in anti-social activities. At one point he engaged in antisocial activities with boys of different ages in the area and became involved with drugs. It doesn’t work if family members repeatedly forbid him. Instead, he beats his mother and father with his accomplices. Disappointed by this, her father was forced to lodge a complaint against his daughter at the police station.
Torab Uddin Mandal, 35, son of Meher Ali Mandal of Baril Nayapara village of the upazila and Moushumi Sultana were arrested from his bedroom at 11pm on Friday night.
Accused Mausumi Sultana said, “After returning to the country from abroad, I secretly married Torab Uddin Mandal.” But my father had a quarrel with me and he made a false complaint to the police.
Asked about this, OC (Investigation) Shah Alam said that the two of them were arrested from his own house on the basis of the complaint of the girl’s father. They have been sent to jail with their case as they could not provide any valid proof of marriage.
