The Prime Minister said it is not the job of the students to break the car down the road, no one will do it. Please go back to your educational institution and study. Those who are guilty will be found and punished, we will do that.

Sheikh Hasina was speaking as the chief guest at a function organized on the first day of the month of Victory on Wednesday morning at Bangladesh Shishu Academy to lay the foundation stone of a mural of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and 12-storey ‘Jayita Tower’ for women entrepreneurs in Dhanmondi.

The Prime Minister participated in the event organized by the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital through a video conference from her official residence Ganobhaban.

The Prime Minister said the law enforcement agencies are very careful. The culprits have been identified immediately. There is also video footage of everything. So catching them at any time in case of any crime is not a very difficult task. This is being done using modern technology.

Sheikh Hasina said those who will cause vandalism and arson in the future will be found out and punished. If someone dies or is burned in the car that is being set on fire, there will be severe punishment. This should also be kept in mind.

He also directed to properly investigate the incidents of pedestrians being killed in garbage trucks in Dhaka North and South City.

He said, “I just want to take Bangladesh forward by keeping the development that we are doing in our country.” Today’s children will be the soldiers to build the golden Bangladesh of tomorrow.

State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatunnesa Indira presided over the ceremony. Saidul Islam delivered the speech. Chairperson of Bangladesh Shishu Academy Lucky Inam and Managing Director of Jayita Foundation Afroza Khan also spoke.

The event also featured two video images of the Father of the Nation mural and the Jayita Tower.

Referring to the condition of the road, the Prime Minister said, “Suddenly there will be running and there will be accidents. Whenever there is an accident, people get down on the road and break the car, set the car on fire, burn the car, what kind of talk is that?” An accident happened, then without trying to save him, without serving him, he got down with a stick, broke the car, set it on fire.

‘I have a question here, to the whole nation through this program. The fire started after this accident, are there no women, children or students in this car? Who will take the responsibility of those who will be burnt, injured or even killed in that fire? It is very natural that those who set fire will be held responsible. Then the law enforcement will have to take action in that way.

Sheikh Hasina said, so I will say, no one will take the law into their own hands. And I would say to the drivers, they also have to drive carefully.
