In Kaliganj of Lalmonirhat, a truck (Dhaka Metto-T-20-6441) lost control of its driver and rammed into a roadside shop, causing damage to goods worth over Tk 6 lakh including two shops.
The accident took place at Tusbhandar Bazar on the Lalmonirhat-Burimari highway near Isonali Bank on Thursday (November 18) morning.
Eyewitness Moshiar Azam Chanu said that a truck heading for Burimari came to Tusbhandar Bazaar near Sonali Bank at around 6 in the morning, lost control and entered two shops on the side of the road and broke into two shops. Dekan’s mobile, photocopy machine, computer and other goods were smashed and smashed. The truck driver and helper immediately fled. There were no people in the store.
Bhutto, a mobile shopkeeper, said that goods worth around Tk 3 lakh including mobiles were damaged in his shop. Computer and Photocopy Dokan Dar Majnu Mia said that about 5 lakh rupees worth of goods including 2 computers, 1 photocopy machine and other goods were destroyed in his shop.
Officer-in-charge of Kaliganj Police Station Arju Mohammad Sajjad said the truck was in police custody. The amount of damage is being determined. Legal action will be taken later.
