Members of RAB-5’s Chapainawabganj camp have arrested 20 drug lords by conducting raids in different areas of Chapainawabganj in the ongoing anti-drug drive of RAB. They were arrested in a raid on a mango orchard in Tetultala village of Gomstapur Bazar Rahanpur Union in Gomstapur upazila of the district on Saturday (October 23) at noon on a tip-off.
The arrested are Mohammad Moklech (38), Mohammad Rabiul Islam (23), Mohammad Selim Reza (32), Mohammad Sohag Ali (38), Mohammad Sekendar Ali (40), Mohammad Jasim Uddin (32) and Mohammad Abdus Sattar (62). , Md. Rahim (25), Md. Rajab Ali (26), Md. Lal Chand Ali (27), Md. Faizul Islam (23), Md. Shariful Islam (55), Shri Ajit Kumar (55), Md. Liton Ali (21), Md. Jamal Uddin (38), Md. Jamirul Islam (45), Md. Dalim (30), Md. Manik (38), Md. Mosharraf Hossain (45) and Md. Palash (25).
According to a press release sent by the RAB Chapainawabganj camp, they raided a mango orchard in Tetultala village of Gomstapur Bazar Rahanpur Union in Gomstapur upazila of the district on Saturday afternoon and arrested them with cannabis and local liquor. During the operation, drug addicts were detained while using drugs. First aid was provided at Gomstapur Upazila Health Complex in Chapainawabganj district. According to the medical certificate, the accused were initially known as drug addicts.
During the preliminary interrogation, the arrested drug addicts came from different areas and gathered at the said place and used drugs. A case has been filed at Gomstapur police station in Chapanbabganj district over the incident.
