The district Awami League organized a rally in Gaibandha on Tuesday against the barbaric communal violence fueled by communal-fundamentalists in different parts of the country. A large number of leaders and activists of Awami League, Juba League, Chhatra League and allied organizations took part in it.
In the morning, a rally led by district Awami League general secretary Abu Bakar Siddique left the party’s district office and marched around the city in the rain. Later, a protest rally was held in front of Ganasas Market on DB Road. The speakers strongly condemned the attacks, vandalism, arson and looting at Pooja M-Pay and houses and demanded the arrest and exemplary trial of the communal miscreants. They called upon the leaders and workers to always be vigilant against evil forces.
