A young man named Shubh Roy (25) has gone missing after falling into the Padma River while abandoning an idol at Ishwardi in Pabna. Upon receiving the news, Ishwardi Fire Service personnel started an operation to rescue him. However, he has not been found yet.
The accident took place at 6:30 pm on Sunday in the Sara Ghat area of ​​the upazila. The missing is the son of Bablu Roy of Karmakar Para area of ​​Shubh Upazila Sadar.

Emdadul Haque Rana Sardar, chairman of the Sangra Union Parishad, confirmed the incident, saying, “Five youths fell into the water when one boat collided with another while the Hindu community was going to abandon the idol in the afternoon as per the pre-arranged time.” Later, the sailors rescued four people but Shubh could not be found.

Officer-in-charge of Ishwardi Police Station Asaduzzaman said, “After informing the fire service office, they came to the spot and carried out rescue operations.” After searching for three hours, he was not found. Rescue efforts are still ongoing.
