The body of a young man named Sohail Hossain, 18, was recovered on Tuesday (October 12th), a day after he went missing while fishing in the Jamuna River.

He went missing in the river Jamuna near Machkhali village in Kaitla union of Bera upazila of Pabna around 11am on Monday (October 11). At around 3pm on Tuesday (October 12), locals saw his body floating in the Jamuna River at Neolaipara Ghat in New Varenga Union, about a kilometer and a half from the scene.
Locals said Sohel Hossain, son of Ruhul Mollah of Machkhali village in the upazila, went fishing with his friends in the Jamuna River near his house around 11am on Monday (October 11). At one point he did not get up by diving. Upon receiving the news, the police and fire service personnel went to the spot and searched for him. On Monday afternoon, a group of divers went from Rajshahi and searched for him. But he was not found at that time. Finally, his body was found floating in a place called Neolaipara Ghat around 3 pm on Tuesday.
Babar Ali, a fireman at Bera Fire Station, said they (fire service personnel) searched the Jamuna River all day on Monday (October 11) and until noon yesterday (October 12) after receiving the news. Divers from Rajshahi also took part with them.
