Bera upazila administration of Pabna is in a strict position to protect mother hilsa

Mohammad Haruna Rashid (Harun) Bera, Pabna Correspondent: Last Saturday (October 9) evening, a patrol team of the Nagarari Port Naval Police raided the Jamuna River and seized 15 kg of mother hilsa, a large quantity of current nets and four fish hunters. A fine of Tk 15,000 has been levied for destroying the seized nets.
Nagarbari Naval Police Outpost Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jahangir Hossain Khan said Rakib, 25, and Sakhayat, 50, of Benutia village in Gala Union of Shahjadpur Upazila, were caught fishing from Dhalarchar area in the evening for violating the Jamuna River ban. Shamim (25) and Ramzan Hossain (45) of Khanpur Madhyapara in Rajbari district were detained from the estuary of Padma Jamuna at night along with a large quantity of current nets and 15 kg of mother-hilsa. After collecting a fine of Tk 15,000 and confiscated current nets (approximately one hundred and twenty five thousand meters) were burnt. Incharge Jahangir Hossain Khan, SI Julhas were present.
Bera Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Sabur Ali said the activities of the upazila administration and law enforcement agencies will continue to protect mother hilsa.
