Bangladesh football team is ahead by one goal against Sri Lanka in the SAF Championship. Jamal Bhuiyan took the lead in the 58th minute through a penalty kick by Tapu Varman.
The Bangladesh team will play against Sri Lanka at the Mall National Stadium in Maldives on Friday at 5 pm.
Jamal Bhuiyan dominated the opening match of the SAF against the Lankans from the very beginning. Ball possession is also ahead. However, neither team scored a goal before the break. Coming back from the break, Bangladesh got a penalty in handball inside the D-box. Tapu Barman put the team ahead with a goal from the penalty spot in the 57th minute.

The SAF Championship will be held in a round robin league system. Each team will face each other once in the league. The two teams with the highest points will play in the final on October 16.
