Pakistan’s opposition Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shahbaz Sharif has sharply criticized the PTI government led by Prime Minister Imran Khan for raising gas prices. He said Pakistan is the country with the highest inflation and low income in the world.
Demanding a reduction in gas prices on Saturday (September 25th), Shahbaz Sharif said the increase in gas prices was unreasonable and another foolish act by the PTI government, Geo News quoted ANI as saying.
The PML-N president said the government was only fulfilling the conditions set by the IMF (International Monetary Fund) in terms of budget. The PTI government is lying to the people about the tax-free budget.
People cannot tolerate high inflation, oppression must stop after oppression, he added.
Commenting on the historic rise in gas and electricity prices, he said the Imran Khan government was raising prices as if it were a “conditional civil war” and one foolish decision after another.
