Locals have rescued a newborn baby from an isle in a paddy field in Boda upazila of Panchagarh. The newborn was rescued from Aokari Para area of ​​Maidandighi union of the upazila at around 3pm on Wednesday. Later on Thursday afternoon, the child was admitted to Panchagarh Modern Sadar Hospital by the Boda Upazila Social Services Department. The child is currently under intensive care in the scan department of Panchagarh Modern Sadar Hospital under the District Social Services Department.
According to district social services and locals, a woman named Sumila Rani heard the sound of a baby crying from a paddy field in Aokari Para area of ​​the upazila. He later informed another woman named Nasima that she and her husband Lal Mia had rescued the child and taken him home. They later informed the Boda police station to report the matter. Later, the police, with the help of the upazila administration, rescued the child from the area and admitted him to Panchagarh Modern Sadar Hospital.
The woman, Nasima Akhter, said that on Wednesday night, a neighbor named Sumila called us when she heard the sound of a baby crying. Later I rescued the baby along with my husband and brought him home. No one cut the child’s pulse. I brought it home and cut the baby’s pulse. I don’t know who left the child here. The baby was bitten by a leech. Later we get rid of the leech. I want to nurture this baby.
Raresh Chandra Roy, UP member of Ward 5 of Maidandighi Union, said, “At 3 pm, the locals informed me that a child had been found near a paddy field. They later rescued the child and took him home. When I informed the administration including the UP chairman, they admitted the child to the Sadar Hospital.
Dr. Monwarul Islam, Junior Consultant (Pediatrician) of Panchagarh Adhunik Sadar Hospital, said that the child’s physical condition is stable. We have been kept under close observation for 24 hours with necessary medical services. The baby is currently being fed saline. However, the physical constitution of the child has not been fixed yet. There are some weaknesses. However, we are constantly looking for his physical condition.
Boda Upazila Nirbahi Officer Soleiman Ali said the rescued child is undergoing treatment at Panchagarh Sadar Hospital through district social services. Action will be taken on who will take care of the child or who will be given the responsibility.
