Two workers were killed in an accident while working on the reactor of Rooppur nuclear power plant under construction at Ishwardi. One person was injured at the time. The accident took place inside the project around 1pm on Monday.
According to hospital sources, one of the dead workers was Moniruzzaman Moni of Ruparup Fatu Market in Ishwardi, Pabna and the other was Madhab Chandra Sarkar of Shahjadpur. Ishwardi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Asaduzzaman confirmed the accident. He said another injured worker was taken to Rajshahi Medical College (RAMEC) Hospital for advanced treatment.
